Description of key information

Major components ranging between 2 and 22 mg/L at ambient temperature (literature and QSAR).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No study was conducted on the oil itself.

In a Weight of Evidence approach, literature provided data for three of the five major components:

- camphene WS ca 4.6 mg/L,

- alpha-pinene WS ca 1.97 mg/L,

- limonene WS ca 2.73 mg/L (at temperatures between 20 and 25°C).

For the other two, no literature data was available, so the dataset was completed with a valid QSAR estimation (at 20°C):

- bornyl acetate levo WS ca 22.1 mg/L,

- delta-3-carene WS ca 3.83 mg/L.

As no CSA is required for the tonnage band of concern, no key value was retained (nor calculated weighted WS nor worst-case).

Moreover, as a UVCB with constituents of different solubility, the global solubility of the oil will depend on the loading rate (with varying ratio of constituents in the dissolved phase).
