Description of key information

Skin sensitisation: OECD 406; guinea pig maximization. Not sensitising. Reliability = 1

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

A Magnusson-Kligman maximization test was conducted with guinea pigs to determine the potential for the test substance to invoke dermal skin sensitization reactions. A reading of 0.5 was observed in 3/20 animals at 30%, 1/20 animals at 10%, and 1/10 animals in the vehicle control/naïve animal at 30%. A reading of 0.5 (very faint erythema) is not considered a positive reaction by the scoring system. Based on these findings and on the evaluation system used, the test substance is not considered to be a contact skin sensitizer..

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available

Justification for classification or non-classification

There was no evidence of dermal sensitization in guinea pigs. The substance does not need to be classified for skin sensitization according to EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
