Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No toxic effects (48 h-EL 50 >91 mg/L) against Daphnia were observed at the limit of water solubility (active ingredient) under exposure conditions. The result are expressed in terms of Effective Loadings (EL) (Spoo-Kloeppel, 2016).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water invertebrates

Fresh water invertebrates
Effect concentration:
91 mg/L

Additional information

"Should read: >91 mg/L"

The substance has not a definite or unique structure and consists of serveral components. Water Accommodated Fractions (WAF) were used to test effects at limit effective loadings and no specific analysis was performed. The content of the substance during the exposure period was verified by DOC determination.

The test was performed with 3-Isocyanatomethyl-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexyl isocyanate, oligomers reaction product with '3-(cyclohexylamino)propane-1-sulfonic acid and N,N-dimethylcyclo-hexanamine' which was solved in 30% solution of 1-methoxy-2-propyl acetate (MPA). According to the OECD SIDS “1-METHOXY-2-PROPANOL-ACETATE” MPA was classified as "Not- hazardous" to aquatic organisms. The PNECacutewas determined as >1 mg/L for the aquatic environment. Therefore it can be assumed that MPA had no inhibitory influence on the toxicity measurement.
