Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Whilst the experimental studies were waived on grounds of exposure, for the purposes of providing an initial estimate to drive the PNECsoil, the 14 day LC50 prediction derived through the use of the ECOSAR v1.0 model was used. This prediction was used since it provided the most conservative estimate for toxicity to earthworms for the test substance. The test substance lay just outside of the scope of the ECOSAR model on the basis of its low log Kow value, but as is demonstrated from 2 other QSAR model predictions, a low order of toxicity is expected and the ECOSAR prediction is consistent with these other QSAR model predictions derived from using the OECD Toolbox. The low toxicity is also consistent with the toxicity expected in aquatic species. Work by Gestel and Ma (1993) have shown that there is consistency between aquatic species and terrestrial species for a given mode of action. The test substance has been shown to be a narcotic and hence any toxicity will be driven by its hydrophobicity which is conveniently modelled by the log Kow value.
