Observed effects may be due to a pH-shift at higher test concentrations. After neutralization (100 mg/L) no effects were observed.

Validity criteria fulfilled:
not specified
Conclusions:
Ethyldimethylamine is considered harmful to fish as a worst-case.
Executive summary:

Ethyldimethylamine acute toxicity to Leuscisus idus has been investigated according to German industrial standard test guideline DIN 38412 part 15. Ethyldimethylamine acute toxicity (LC50 -96h) ranges from 38.29 to >100 mg/L depending on the neutralization state.

Description of key information

One study has been identified as relevant for characterizing ethyldimethylamine toxicity to fish. In the framework of this study carried out according to National German guidelines, the toxicity determined is to be 38.29 mg/L (LC50 -96h, pH non-adjusted). No mortality is observed up to 100 mg/L when pH was adjusted.
