Test substrate
- Vehicle:
- yes
- Details on preparation and application of test substrate:
- - All crops were individually subjected to the test item in sandy clay loam (3.20 % organic matter). Additionally, Gossypium hirsutun was subjected in various types soil such as sand (0.14 % organic matter), loam type 1 (0.90 % organic matter), sandy loam (2.10 % organic matter), sandy clay loam (3.20 % organic matter), clay loam (4.20 % organic matter) and loam type 2 (28.8 % organic matter).
- Method of application to soil surface: Test item dissolved in vehicle and subsequently titrated to a neutral pH of 7.5 was poured onto air-dried soil samples
- Chemical name of vehicle : Methylene chloride
- Evaporation of vehicle before use: After apllication onto soil, 2 h time-intervall was allowed for complete evaporation of the vehicle.

Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- All species tested except Medicago sativa and Lycopersicon esculentum tolerated soil concentrations of the test item which were estimated to be greater than the highest recommended field application rates.
- Executive summary:
Studies were conducted to compare the toxicity of the test item to seedlings of various crop plants. For one crop type (cotton) various types of soil were evaluated for comparative purposes. It was observed that the effect of the test item strongly depends on the organic matter content. The toxicity of the decreased with increasing organic matter contents. It was concluded that all species tested except Medicago sativa and Lycopersicon esculentum tolerated soil concentrations of the test item which were estimated to be greater than the highest recommended field application rates.
