Description of key information

Flammable liquid

no pyrophoricity

no flammability on contact with water

not self-heating

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
flammable

Additional information

Based on flash point and boiling point the substance is a flammable liquid.

Based on the chemical structure and experience in handling and use, pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not expected.

The substance is a liquid, and as such, does not show self-heating behaviour if it is not absorbed on a large surface.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the flash point (56.5 °C) and boiling point (171.1 °C), the substance is considered to be a flammable liquid and vapour. According to CLP classification criteria, the substance needs to be classified as Flammable liquid Category 3.

Pyrophoricity, flammability on contact with water and self-heating are not expected on the basis of experience in handling and use, chemical structure and physical state.
