Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
not specified
Conclusions:
55% of a 100 mg/L dye solution adsorbs to sewage sludge (2 g/L). However, 90% of the substance were recovered after a chemical precipitation test with FeSO4 ( 1 g/L). Additionally, adsorption to activated carbon was measured (determined value: 38 mg/L). The general adsorption rate to activated sludge is relatively low and almost fully reversible which corresponds to the low log Kow and the high water solubility.
