Description of key information

Stability of the substance in the environment:

In Annex VIII column 2 of the REACH Regulation, it is stated, that a study on the "Hydrolysis as function of pH" does not need to be conducted if the “substance is readily biodegradable". It can be concluded that a study on the hydrolysis as a function of pH is not required based on the rapid biodegradability of the substance in the environment

Biodegradation of the substance:

Two reliable biodegradation studies are available and both demonstrate biodegradability. The key study by Kronenberger et al (2008) determined that the test substance is readily biodegradable and meets the 10-day window criterion.

Transport and distribution of the substance:

Waiver. In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annexes VIII, the adsorption / desorption study (required in section 9.3.1) do not need to be conducted if, based on the physico-chemical properties the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption (e.g. the substance has a low octanol-water partition coefficient). The partition coefficient of the substance was determined in a reliable study (Evonik, 2015) where the Log Kow is -0.73. Therefore, the substance is considered to have low potential for absorption and no further testing is required.
