First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

After contact with skin - Promptly flush contaminated skin with water immediately. Promptly remove clothing if soaked through and flush the skin with water. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention immediately.

After contact with eyes -  Assure adequate flushing of the eyes with copious amounts of water and obtain medical attention.

After ingestion - If swallowed, wash out mouth with water and obtain medical attention.

Inhalation - Remove from source of exposure to fresh air and obtain medical attention. For breathing difficulties oxygen may be necessary.

Equipment at work place - Eye and skin washing facilities

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Symptoms - No symptoms known currently.

Hazards - Corrosivity, Serious Eye Damage.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media - Carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder or appropriate foam

Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons - Unknown

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

The substance is combustible and may burn if involved in a fire evolving toxic fumes (oxides of Carbon & Nitrogen)

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for firefighting - Use self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear full protective suit

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

For non fire-fighters- Avoid any contact with the skin and eyes. If a large quantity has been spilt, evacuate all personnel and only allow intervention by trained operators equipped with safety apparatus.

For fire-fighters - Wear self-contained breathing apparatus, rubber boots, heavy rubber gloves and eye protection.

Environmental precautions

Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Observe relevant legislation for disposal as a hazardous waste. Absorb on sand or vermiculite & place in closed containers for disposal, ensure containers are labelled and marked for disposal as hazardous waste at an approved site.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation. Always wash hands after handling. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-using. Avoid eye and skin contact, ingestion and inhalation. Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Requirements for storage areas and containers - Store in the original, closed containers. Keep away from heat and open flame. Store at 2-8 °C.

No other specific storage requirements.
