Description of key information
Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
Using the OECD QSAR toolbox version 3.3 with log kow as the primary descriptor and considering the five closest read across substances, the short term toxicity on Daphnia magna aquatic invertebrates was predicted for 2,2'-[(3-acetamidophenyl)imino]diethyl diacetate (Cas no. 27059-08-1). Effect concentration i.e EC50 value was estimated to be 245.92 mg/l for Daphnia magna for 48 hrs duration. It was concluded that the 2,2'-[(3-acetamidophenyl)imino]diethyl diacetate (Cas no. 27059-08-4-1) was likely to be not toxic to aquatic invertebrates, hence it can be considered to be “not classified” as per the CLP classification criteria for aquatic environment.
Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

Effect concentration i.e EC50 value was estimated to be 430.03 mg/l for Desmodesmus subspicatus for 72 hrs duration. It was concluded that the 2,2'-[(3-acetamidophenyl)imino]diethyl diacetate (Cas no. 27059-08-1) was likely to be not-toxic to aquatic algae, hence it can be considered to be “not classified” as per the CLP classification criteria for aquatic environment.

Four studies including predicted data from validated tools and experimental data from peer reviewed journal and authorative database for short term aquatic invertebrate’s endpoint of test chemical 2,2'-[(3-acetamidophenyl)imino]diethyl diacetate (CAS: 27059-08-1) with relevant read across which is close to target using log Kow as primary descriptor were summarised as follows:
Using the OECD QSAR toolbox version 3.3 with log kow as the primary descriptor and considering the five closest read across substances, the short term toxicity on Daphnia magna aquatic invertebrates was predicted for 2,2'-[(3-acetamidophenyl)imino]diethyl diacetate (Cas no. 27059-08-1). Similar prediction by EPI suite, ECOSAR version 1.1, on the basis of similarity of structure to chemicals for which the aquatic toxicity has been previously measured by structure-activity relationships (SARs) program suggest the LC50 value for short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates was predicted. On the basis of EPI suite, ECOSAR version 1.1, the LC 50 value for short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates was predicted to be 553.12 mg/l for 2,2'-[(3-acetamidophenyl)imino]diethyl diacetate in 48 hrs.
Above both predicted results of target assist by experimental result of read across chemical Propyl acetate (Cas no. 109-60-4) from peer reviewed journal Gas Wasserfach Wasser Abwasser; 1981 which suggests the Effective concentration to 50% of Daphnia magna is 318 mg/L at 24 hrs, the Behavior (Equilibrium) effects were measured. It can be concluded that the Propyl acetate is not toxic to aquatic environment.
One another read across N-butyl acetate (Cas no.123-86-4) from same peer reviewed journal Gas Wasserfach Wasser Abwasser; 1981 which suggestsEffective concentration to 50% of Daphnia magna is 205 mg/L at 24 hrs, the Behavior (Equilibrium) effects were measured. It can be concluded that the N-butyl acetate is not toxic to aquatic environment.
Thus based on the all available effect concentrations which is in the range of 205 mg/l to 553.12 mg/l for target and read across chemicals which come to the conclusion that test substance 2,2'-[(3-acetamidophenyl)imino]diethyl diacetate (Cas no. 27059-08-1) was likely to be non-toxic to aquatic invertebrates at environmentally relevant concentrations and can be considered to be“not classified”as per the CLP regulation.

On the basis of the value it can be concluded that the Propyl acetate is not toxic to aquatic environment.
One another read across Ethylene di(acetate (Cas no.111-55-7) from High Production Volume Information System data base; 2001 which suggestsThe 72hour NOEC for Ethylene di(acetate) was determined to be 119.86 mg/L (highest concentration tested). It can be concluded that the Ethylene di(acetate) is not toxic to aquatic environment.
Thus based on the all available effect concentrations which is in the range of 119.86 mg/l to 430.03 mg/l for target and read across chemicals which come to the conclusion that test substance 2,2'-[(3-acetamidophenyl)imino]diethyl diacetate (Cas no. 27059-08-1) was likely to be non-toxic to aquatic algae at environmentally relevant concentrations and can be considered to be“not classified”as per the CLP regulation.
