Description of key information

Two TGD-approved handbooks agree that the notional solid structure has a melting point of 131°C (reported as D-gluconic acid).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Information concerning melting/freezing point of 50% aqueous solution of gluconic acid substance was reported as D-gluconic acid and was sourced from two separate handbooks. Merck Index: An Encyclopedia of Chemicals, Drugs, and Biologicals (14th Ed.) and CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics (81st Ed.), which are known to contain peer-reviewed data of Klimisch-2 reliability state that D-gluconic acid has a melting point of 131°C (corresponding to 404.15 K).
