Description of key information

Biodegradation

In a ready biodegradation study performed to Japanese Guidelines the average degradability after 28 days was 0% and 2% based on the BOD and the residual amount of test material, respectively. The test substance was found not to be readily biodegradable under the conditions of the study. In an inherent biodegradation study the test material attained 49% degradation after 28 days based on oxygen consumption values. As pre-exposed inoculum was used in this test, the criteria for ready biodegradability given in the OECD Guidelines do not apply, however it is considered that the test material has exhibited the potential for significant degradation to occur in the environment.
