Additional information

Each of the main constituents of the substance, that is hematite, quartz and Feldspar-minerals are all very insoluble. Analysis showed that the substance contained 0.98% water soluble matter. However, the identity of the soluble material was not determined. A separate analysis for lead solubility showed that the Substance contained 0.7% lead and that less than 1% of the lead present in the substance was water soluble at pH 7 (PBET 2010). This would make the lead present in the substance to be classified as slightly soluble (<100 mg/L).
