Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Estrone melts at 262.4 °C (polymorph I) and no pressure was reported.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
262.4 °C

Additional information

Estrone is a solid under ambient conditions. It is found to exist in at least three polymorphic forms, called polymorphs I, II and II. The investigated batches in this study correspond to polymorph II. The examination of the sublimate by X-Ray powder diffraction shows that already at 230 °C nearly complete transformation into polymorph I took place. At 262.4°C the melting point of polymorph I was detected.
