First-aid measures

General: In case of accident or if you feel sick, seek immediate medical care. Contact the nearest poison control center. Recommendations for physician: Treat symptomatically under medical control.
Inhalation: Remove from the affected area to breathe fresh air. If any breathing difficulties, secure and give artificial respiration or give oxygen. Keep the victim warm and at rest. See a medical doctor.
Skin Contact: Remove any contaminated clothing. Wask immediately with water and soap. Obtain medical attention.
Eye Contact: Wash immediatedly with plenty of water for 15 minutes at least. Obtain medical attention.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water quickly. Drink water (not if the victim is unconscious). Do not induce vomiting. Go to hospital urgently.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, appropriate foam.
Special exposure hazards: In case of fire, will emit toxic fumes that are irritating, containing COx and other hazardous substances.
Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Cordon off the affected area and do not allow anyone access to the area unless they have proper protective equipment.
Environmental precautions: Do not allow under any circumstances to reach waterways or sewers.
Methods for cleaning up: Collect in a container for disposal. Ventilate area and wash spill site after completing the collection.

Handling and storage

Handling: Use of closed systems only. Use local exhaust during charging and any sampling from reactor vessel. Use in a closed reactor vessel. Use pump transfer for charging reactor vessel. Use local exhaust ventilation as an additional measure during charging of vessel. Use scrubbers for captured process gases and exhaust air treatment with chemical neutralisation followed by cryogenic trapping. Treat residues and wastes from cryogenic trapping as hazardous waste. Treat any effluent arising from manufacture and cleaning with on-site biological waste water treatment.
Approved respirator face mask must be used. Gloves must be of compatible chemical resistance and chemical safety goggles must be worn. Do not breathe vapour. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wash well after handling. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.
Storage: Keep in closed containers, protected from moisture and sources of ignition. Use leak-proof containers. Store away from sources of ignition or incompatible materials.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Specific control parameters: Use only under Strictly Controlled Conditions: Use of closed systems only. Use local exhaust during charging and any sampling from reactor vessel.Use in a closed reactor vessel.
Personal protection: Approved respirator face mask must be used. Gloves must be of compatible chemical resistance and chemical safety goggles must be worn. Do not breathe vapour. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wash well after handling. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.
Respiratory protection: Respiratory face mask equipped with filters Universal or filter type P3.
Hand protection: Compatible chemical resistant gloves (EN 374).
Eye protection: Safety glasses with side protection (EN 166).
Skin protection: Work clothes.
Additional procedure: Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Locate nearest shower/eyewash in case of emergency.
(Refer to Section 13 for further information on Strictly Controlled Conditions)

Stability and reactivity

Stable under normal conditions of use.
Conditions to avoid: Carried to dryness, the residue can decompose to give toxic and irritating fumes.
Materials to avoid: Strong oxidizing agents.
Hazardous decomposition products/Exothermic reactions and dangerous products: Combustion reactions. Hazardous substances can be generated.

Disposal considerations

Observe all local environmental standards, regional, national or European application.
Handling waste: Handle waste and contaminated packages in the same way as the substance itself.
Methods for disposal of product: Collect in suitable packaging and send to licensed waste manager for disposal.
Methods for disposal of contaminated packaging: Handle contaminated packages in the same way as the substance itself.
