Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
migrated information: read-across based on grouping of substances (category approach)
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
13 to 16 Oct 2009

Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: see 'Remark'
Remarks:
Guideline study, tested with the source substance 28510-23-8. In accordance to the ECHA guidance document "Practical guide 6: How to report read-across and categories (March 2010)", the reliability was changed from RL1 to RL2 to reflect the fact that this study was conducted on a read-across substance.

Principles of method if other than guideline:
Determination of water solubility of the test item according to test procedure VTA34N00003.01, which complies with EU test method L383 A/54-62 (EEC A.6.).
GLP compliance:

Recovery rate

The recovery rate was determined in duplicate (two independent replicates). An average recovery rate of 95% could be determined.

Linearity

Linearity could be shown over the whole calibration range from 0.01 to 5.3 mg/L (related to 40 mL of water, correlation coefficient R = 1.000).

Additional information

The water solubility of this substance was deduced from the measurement of a similar substance (CAS-No. 28510 -23 -8). Water solubility is a property which decreases with increasing chain length for substances within the same group of chemicals. The chain length of the source substance is C8branched, the chain length of the target substance is C16 -18 and C18 -unsaturated. Therefore the solubility is deduced to be < 1 mg/L.
