Conclusion on classification

No mortality on fish was observed with a saturated solution in a acute toxicitiy test. No effects on daphnids were observed in a study with a saturated solutions. Toxicity on algae was not observed with a saturated solution (100 mg/L) and the EC50 was greater than 0.0015 mg/L. A second study showed inhibition, but the test concentration of 1 mL/L is high and therefore the study is not considered for classification. The test substance is classified a readily biodegradable. Therefore, the test substance is not classified to be harmful to aquatic organisms according to CLP regulation No. 1272/2008.
