Description of key information

The acute toxicity study in showed an LC 50 (96 hours ) > 77 mg/l. Only a single dose was tested with a nominal concentration of 100 mg/l and a measured concentration of 77 mg/l. No mortality occurred and no signs of toxicity were recorded.
No salt water fish was tested . The toxicity of TGIC towards fresh water fish is considered to be low.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water fish

Fresh water fish
Effect concentration:
77 mg/L

Additional information

In a single dose limit test in fish for 96 h according to guideline OECD 203 the LC50 was > 77 mg/ml. The single dose tested showed no mortality and no sings of toxicity, thus, the LC50 is higher than the measured 77 mg/l.

No salt water fish was tested, as TGIC is not considered to be found in salt water in significant concentrations.

It is believed that TGIC poses no significant risk to fish in rivers and lakes.
