Additional information

Fish acute toxicity

The substance was tested for its acute toxicity to fish (Rainbow trout, RedKilli fish, Zebrafish) according to the A-11 method, comparable to today’s 203 standard testing procedure published by the OECD. Based on the weight of evidence approach, the LC50 range, collected from several available studies on the substance itself, is 0.63-6.3 mg/L.

The only reliable study reported an LC50 at 96 hours, on Zebrafish, of 4.62 mg/L.

Invertebrate acute toxicity

A substance was tested for its acute toxicity to Daphnia magna strauss, according to the Guideline : 92/69/EEC C.2.

EC50 at 48 hours was 17 mg/L. The EC50 at 24h was 42 mg/L (95% confidence limit).

At 48 horurs were also determinated:EC0, 3.9 mg/L; the EC100: 31 mg/L and the NOEC: 3.9 mg/L.

Aquatic Plants toxicity

The substance was tested for its toxicity to algae, on Scenedesmus subspicatus, according to the Guideline 92/69/EEC C.3.

EbC50 was determined to be 13 mg/L with 95 % confidence limit at 72 hours.

NOEbC was found to be 0.44 mg/L (5 % level), values based on nominal concentrations, at 72 hours.

Microrganisms

The substance was tested for its toxicity on aquatic microorganisms, according to the B.10 and B.21 methods.

Based on the weight of evidence approach, the BST range, collected from the several available studies on the substance itself, is 300 -400, while the IC50 performed with the B.21 method was found to be >400 mg/L.
