Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
short-term toxicity to fish
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is highly insoluble in water, hence indicating that aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur
Justification for type of information:
no experimental study is required for this substance based on the outcome of a full TDp assay (cfr. IUCLID Section 4 'Water solubility') and the identified acute and chronic threshold values for ecotoxicity.

Description of key information

No experimental study is required for palladium based on the outcome of a full TDp assay (cfr. IUCLID Section 4 'Water solubility') and the identified acute and chronic threshold values with other water soluble palladium substances.
The lowest EC50 for acute fish toxicity was determined at >30 μg Pd/L. This is the lowest acute threshold for this endpoint identified with palladium substances, but the study suffered from methodological issues. The lowest threshold identified with reliable studies is 154 µg Pd/L (cfr Environmental Read Across Justification document in IUCLID Section 13 for more details).
