Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The tests conducted did not reveal any hazardous potential of the substance. Therefore, a PNEC assessment is scientifically not justified what is in accordance with the substance's negligible solubility in water and in organic solvents, its extreme inertness and no known transformation into other substances. Additionally, according to the macromolecular structure which makes crossing biological membranes unlikely there are no indications for a bioavailability of the substance.

Therefore, effects could only be triggered by impurities which mainly consist of metal and mixed metal oxides (mainly Al, Ca, Fe, Na and Si oxides) as residues from the manufacturing process. The polluting elements are common and ubiquitous in the environment. Consequently, not only for the substance itself but also for its impurities effects on the environment are not predicted.

Conclusion on classification

Based on the results from acute aquatic toxicity tests, classification of the substance is not justified.
