Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
biodegradation in water: ready biodegradability
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
22 March to 19 April 1991
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Remarks:
Although a GLP compliant study, a reference substance of known biodegradability was not tested in parallel to check the test procedure and viability of the inoculum. However, a number of other test items were tested in parallel which did achieve the pass level of > 60%. Thus the study can be considered reliable with restrictions.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 301 B (Ready Biodegradability: CO2 Evolution Test)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
modified by use of sealed vessels for assessment of volatile substances
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Oxygen conditions:
anaerobic
Inoculum or test system:
activated sludge (adaptation not specified)
Details on inoculum:
Secondary effluent from an unacclimatised activated sludge plant at URL North.
Duration of test (contact time):
28 d
Initial conc.:
10 mg/L
Based on:
other: Organic carbon
Parameter followed for biodegradation estimation:
CO2 evolution
Key result
Parameter:
% degradation (inorg. C analysis)
Value:
87.7
Sampling time:
28 d
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Interpretation of results:
readily biodegradable
Conclusions:
The Dihydromyrcenyl Acetate achieved 87.7% biodegradation in 28 days (i.e. 87.7%) and passed the 10d window (11.9% day 4, 67.2% day 14). Thus concluded as readily biodegradable.
Executive summary:

The Dihydromyrcenyl Acetate achieved 87.7% biodegradation in 28 days (i.e. 87.7%) and passed 10d window (11.9% day 4, 67.2% day 14). Thus it can be concluded that the dihydromyrcenyl acetate is readily biodegradable according to this test (modified OECD guideline 301B using sealed vessels).
