oxidising properties
Data waiving:
other justification
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid
the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance contains oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials

Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, the substance N,N,N-trimethylanilinium chloride is Solid in nature and incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, on the basis of the chemical structure. It is an organic substance containing halogen atom chlorine but it does not contain oxygen atoms and the chlorine atom are not chemically bonded to nitrogen or oxygen atoms. Thus, the chemical is unlikely to exhibit oxidising properties and this study was therefore considered for waiver.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, the substance N,N,N-trimethylanilinium chloride is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials,on the basis of the chemical structure. It is an organic substance containing the halogen atom chlorine but it does not contain oxygen atoms and the chlorine atom is not chemically bonded to nitrogen or oxygen atoms. Thus, the chemical is unlikely to exhibit oxidising properties and this study was therefore considered for waiver. For the purpose of chemical safety assessment, the chemical N,N,N-trimethylanilinium chloride is considered to be "Non Oxidising".

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, the substance N,N,N-trimethylanilinium chloride is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials,on the basis of the chemical structure. It is an organic substance containing the halogen atom chlorine but it does not contain oxygen atoms and the chlorine atom is not chemically bonded to nitrogen or oxygen atoms. Thus, the chemical is unlikely to exhibit oxidising properties and this study was therefore considered for waiver. For the purpose of chemical safety assessment and Classification, the chemical N,N,N-trimethylanilinium chloride is considered to be "Non Oxidising".
