Additional information
The fish acute toxicity test was performed according to OECD guideline No. 203 under GLP compliance. The result showed the test substance induced no visible or lethal effects in carp at 0.020 mg/l, being the average measured exposure concentration in a WAF prepared at a loading rate of 100 mg/l (NOEC). The 96 h-LC50 exceeded 0.020 mg/l, being the average measured exposure concentration in a WAF prepared at a loading rate of 100 mg/l.
Alkylated naphthalene, EC Number 700-826-8 is a close structural analog of Alkylnaphthalene. The substances have similar chemical and physical properites and the acute fish toxicity testing for Alkylated naphthalene, EC Number 700-826-8 can be used as read-across to Alkylnaphthalene.
A 96 hour freshwater fish toxicity study was found to have been conducted and used as read across. The study was identified during the Inquiry process. Measured concentrations were not reported but the NOEC (LC0) was reported to be greater than the loading rate of 10115 mg/L. These data confirm the low toxicity of alkylnapthalene to fish that was demonstrated with the analog Alkylated Napthalene.
