Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
22 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
38 mg/L

Additional information

For the assessment of the toxicity of Amides, C8-18, C18 unsatd, N-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl] to microorganisms a study conducted with the closely related source substance Amides, C8-18 even numbered, N-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl] is available.

Supporting data on the target substance itself is also available. The study, however, is insufficiently documented. A justification for read-across is given in IUCLID section 13.

In a 16 hour toxicity study, the cultures of Pseudomonas putida were exposed to Amides, C8-18 even numbered, N-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl] at nominal concentrations of 0, 20, 30, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 70, 80 mg/L under static conditions in accordance with the DIN 38412, part 8. The EC10 and EC50 values based on growth inhibition were 22 and 38 mg/L, respectively.  The % growth inhibition in the treated algal culture as compared to the control ranged from 15 to 99.

In a supporting study according to DIN 38412 (Part 8) conducted with the target substance Amides, C8-18, C18 unsatd, N-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl], the EC10 to Pseudomonas putida of the test substance was determined to be 280 mg/L.
