Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Not readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

A ready biodegradability study was performed equivalent or similar to OECD 301C under GLP conditions (Nissan Chemical Industries, Ltd., 1994). The initial test substance concentration was 100 mg/L. BOD and TOC removal as well as the test substance content by HPLC were observed. The degradation rate after 28 days of incubation over all parameters was 0 - 3 %. This indicates that no biodegradation under test conditions was detected.

The results are supported by three QSAR calculations of the CATALOGIC v5.11.16 model (CATALOGIC Kinetic (OECD 301B) v02.08; CATALOGIC OECD 301C v08.11; CATALOGIC Kinetic (OECD 301F) v12.15): The degradation rates were < 1% after 28 d (not readily biodegradable). However, since the substance was not in the applicability domain of all three models due to unknown fragments, the results may be uncertain. It can be concluded that the substance is not readily biodegradable.
