Executive summary:

An acute fish toxicity test was performed with Zebra-fish (Brachydanio rerio). This study was conducted according to method similar or equivalent to OECD test guideline 203.

10 fish per concentration were exposed at 300 and 1000 mg/L. Following deaths were observed.

At 300 mg/L: 10/10 fish survived at 96h interval.

At 1000 mg/L: 9/10 fish survived at 96h interval.

Based on the findings, the LC0 value was determined to be 300 mg/l. The LC50 and LC100 value was determined to be greater than 1000 mg/l.

Description of key information

The LC50 of FAT 40000 was determined to be greater than 1000 mg/L.

Additional information

A key study to determine acute toxicity to fish was performed with Zebra-fish (Brachydanio rerio). Groups of fish were exposed at the test concentrations of 300 and 1000 mg/L. Based on the findings, the LC0 values was 300 whereas LC50 and LC100 value was determined to be greater than 1000 mg/l. Several other studies conducted on different batches of this test material and involving different species confirmed this test result indication no species-dependent or production process and batch-dependent effects.

Overall result:

LC50 = >1000 mg/l.
