Description of key information

The water solubility of FAT 41045 at 20 ± 0.5 °C was determined to be < 0.06 mg/L (LOQ) using the flask method (OECD 105) and quantified by HPLC.

Analytical Method The concentrations of FAT 41045/A TE were determined through a method using HPLC chromatography. Method and sample preparation are fully described in Validation Report 13041201G926.

Main Study:

In the main test, 10 mg/L FAT 41045/A TE were used to prepare a saturated solution as the water solubility detected in the pre-test was below LOQ of 0.06 mg/L (in the guideline,a minimum of fivefold saturation is proposed). To determine the dependency of the water solubility on the amount of the test item added, six different loading rates were chosen.

Flasks were centrifuged at 4100 RPM for 15 minutes prior to preparation for measurement.

FAT 41045/ATE was measured via HPLC in the centrifuged saturated aqueous solutions. Tyndall effect (i.e. a laser beam was not scattered when transmitted through the liquid) was not observed.
