Description of key information

EC50 (72 h) > 1000 mg/L and NOEC >= 500 mg/L for Scenedesmus subspicatus based on growth rate (according to OECD 201)

Additional information

As no study is available for Blankophor TP 1160 (CAS 1200448-68-5), a read-across is performed to a study conducted with the structural analogue CAS 16470-24-9. This GLP-study on unicellular green algae (Scenedesmus subspicatus) was conducted according to OECD guideline 201 (Ciba-Geigy, BASF SE, 1990). Up to a test item concentration of 500 mg/L (nominal) no effects on the growth of the algae were observed. At the highest test concentration of 1000 mg/L (nominal) 14.4 % inhibition was determined after 72 hours of exposure. Thus, the ErC50 (72h) value on algae growth inhibition is > 1000 mg/L (nominal).
