Additional information

In some cases neodecanoic acid is used for read across to the C10 -20 neo acids as a valid surrogate and structurally related. Neodecanoic acid is not mutagenic in vitro in bacterial mutation assays (with and without metabolic activation) and was not clastogenic in a cytogenetic assay. This data suggests that neodecanoic acid is not genotoxic in vitro and likely not genotoxic in vivo.

Short description of key information:
Not mutagenic.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

No classification for genetic toxicity is indicated according to the general classification and labeling requirements for dangerous substances and preparations (Directive 67-548-EEC) or the classification, labeling and packaging (CLP) regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
