Conclusion on classification

Although the substance is not inherently biodegradable, its water solubility is very high resulting in a log Pow of < -3.3 and towards three trophic levels (fish, daphnia and algae) the substance did not show signs of toxicity at 100 mg/L concentration. Also, no toxicity to microorganisms was seen in an OECD 209 study dosed up to 1000 mg/L. A daphnia reproduction toxicity study showed a NOEC of 12.5 mg/L and thus far above level for classification. As a result, the substance is neither classified for chronic nor for acute aquatic toxicity according to CLP (Regulation EC No 1272/2008).
