Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
After consultation with the sponsor and authorities, the precise solubility was not determined, because due to the results in the preliminary test, a main study as described in the Guidelines was not possible.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
other: Visual judgement

Test material

Constituent 1
Details on test material:
Identity: AES
Batch: LSF7
Purity: 82.5%
Appearance: Solid
Expiration date: March 28, 2009
Storage: In the refrigerator at about 4 °C

Results and discussion

Water solubility
Water solubility:
> 500 g/L
Temp.:
22 °C
pH:
> 7 - < 8
Details on results:
After mixing a total of 1.1 g of the test item with 2 mL of water AES was completely disolved by visual judgement. Therefore, the water solubility of AES might be higher as determined in the present study.
Test was perfomed at room temperature

Any other information on results incl. tables

The results of the perliminary test indicates, that AES is miscible with water up to a concentration of 500 g/L. Thus, it is not possible to weigh the fivefold saturation concentration of the test item in water in order to perform a main study.

The water solubility of AES at room temperature was estimated to be > 500 g/L

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): very soluble (> 10000 mg/L)
The water solubility of AES at room temperature was estimated to be > 500 g/L.
