Additional information

A guideline study in compliance with a recognised quality system or by laboratories complying with a relevant recognised standard, such as EN ISO/IEC 17025 was conducted according to the recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, 5th revised edition, Part III, Test N.1, Section 33.2.1.4 and section 33.3 (UN N.4).

BASF study SIK-No. 15/2151 determined that the test substance is not considered a flammable solid of division 4.1 and that the substance is also not classified as a self-heating substance of Division 4.2.

Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as self-reactive as the heat of decomposition is less than 300 J/g.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as self-heating as the substance is The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as an organic peroxide as by definition based on their chemical structure the substance is no organic peroxide.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Dangerous Substance Directive (67/548/EEC):

Based on the chemical structure and taking into account the provisions laid down in Directive 67/548/EEC, as amended for the 31st time in Directive 2009/2/EG, the substance is not considered to be classified as flammable, flammable in contact with water or pyrophoric.

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008:

Based on the chemical structure and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, as amended for the sixth time in Regulation (EC) No 605/2014., the substance is not considered to be classified as flammable, flammable in contact with water, pyrophoric, self-reactive substance, aelf-heating substance or organic peroxide.
