Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A key study was performed to determine the toxicity of Acid Violet 054 in activated sludge for 3-hours respiration inhibition test according to OECD Guideline No. 209 (Huntsman, 1994)

The test was performed in compliance with the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) Regulations of Switzerland.

The test substance concentrations tested were 320,100, 32 and 10 mg/l.

The reference substance, 3, 5-Dichlorophenol was tested in concentrations of 32, 10 and 3.2 mg/l.

Results:

IC50 (3 h) = 100.0 mg/l

IC20 (3 h) = 18.5 mg/l

IC50 (3 h) of the reference substance 3,5-Dichlorophenol: 12.0 mg/l

In several supporting studies (Huntsman, 1982, FAT - 21'020/B; Huntsman, 1976, FAT - 21'020/A ) the BST values were determined as >300 mg/L.
