According to REACH Regulation (EC n. 1907/2006), annex IX, column 2, these study does not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. Calcium hypophosphite is imported in a solid state and it is distributed only to dedicated industrial sites. It is included in polymeric matrix with no contact of water in industrial controlled site. There is no discharge into the water stream, neither intentional nor accidentally. The substance is an ionic salt that is fully dissociated in water and there is no clue for bioaccumulation potential. Direct and indirect exposure of the aquatic compartment is unlikely.
