Description of key information

The dissociation constant has been measured on two similar products.
The pKa of the first substance (Tetrakis(hydroxymethyl) phosphonium chloride, oligomeric reaction products with urea) was determined to 4,93 at 22°C (Kühne, 2010).
The pKa of the second substance (Tetrakis (hydroxymethyl) Phosphonium Chloride (THPC)) was estimated to 5,48 at 20°C (Younis, 2010).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Based on dissociation constant measured on two similar products, the registered reaction product has to be considered in its dissociated form at environmental pH.
