Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 section 7.13 of REACH Annex VII, testing for oxidising properties was not conducted. Based on a consideration of the known chemical composition of the substance, there are no functional groups or other structural alerts present that would indicate this substance would promote oxidation.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

The oxidising properties of the substance are screened based on the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods Manual of Tests and Criteria (Fifth revised edition). Based on the UN Recommendation criteria the substance is considered to be non-oxidising and therefore is not to be tested experimentally for the classification. Thus it can be concluded that the substance is not capable of causing fire or enhancing the risk of fire when in contact with combustible material.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on a consideration of the known chemical composition of the substance, there are no chemical groups associated with oxidising properties present in the substance and classification in accordance with Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 is not required.
