Additional information

A predicted vapour pressure value of 3.6E-05 Pa at 25°C was determined for the substance using a validated QSAR estimation method. The result is considered to be reliable.

In a secondary source to which reliability could not be assigned (MSDS), a vapour pressure value of <10 Pa at 20°C was reported for the substance.

In contact with water, the substance hydrolyses moderately rapidly to form dimethylsilanediol and 2-[2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy]ethan-1-ol. The vapour pressure of the silanol hydrolysis product, dimethylsilanediol is predicted to be 7 Pa at 25°C.

On the ECHA disseminated dossier webpage, the non-silanol hydrolysis product, 2-[2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy]ethan-1-ol (triethylene glycol, CAS 112-35-6) has a reported vapour pressure of approximately 1 Pa at 20°C.
