Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Thus, a half life of 0.1 days is estimated for reaction ofpenta-1,3-dienewith hydroxyl radicals in the atmosphere at 25oC [AOPWIN Program, v.1.92] and a half-life of 0.2 days is calculated for reaction ofpenta-1,3-dienewith ozone [AOPWIN Program, v.1.91].

Overall QSARs estimated half-life for degradation ofpenta-1,3-dienein air based upon AOPWIN Model is 1.71 hours.

Based on the data on photochemical degradation ofpenta-1,3-dienein the air, it is considered to rapidly degrade in the atmosphere via photooxidation process.

The following information is taken into account for any hazard / risk / persistency assessment:

AOPWINProgram, v.1.92 estimated data:

Reaction with hydroxyl radicals at 25oC:

Overall OH Rate Constant: =105.1360 x 10-12cm3/molecule-sec

Half Life: =1.221 hours =0.102 days (12-hour day; 1.5x106OH/cm3)

AOPWINProgram, v.1.91 estimated data:

Reaction with ozone at 25oC:

Overall ozone Rate Constant: =5.26 x 10-17cm3/molecule-sec

Half Life: =5.229 hours =0.218 days (at 7x1011mol/cm3)
