The effect of Zinc acetate on liver injury resulting from disorders of carbohydrate metabolism was investigated. Male albino rats, 90 days old, were fed sublethal doses of test substance for 30 days.
Zinc was a good stimulator of glycogen storage. The stimulatory effects of zinc was attributed to its ability to induce enzymes active in gluconeogenesis.
