Description of key information

The LC50 (14 d) of the test substance in artificial soil was 107 mg/kg dw . The highest concentration causing no mortality, LC0 (14 d), was equal to 50 mg/kg dw and the lowest concentration causing 100 % mortality, LC100 (14 d) was equal to 200 mg/kg dw (OECD 207).

GUIDELINE

The test was conducted to determine the acute toxicity of the test substance to earthworms according to "The guidelines for the testing of chemicals" (HJ/T 153 -2004) and "The guidelines for the testing of chemicals" (SEPA, Beijing: China Environmental Sciences Press, 2004); with reference to Procedure 207 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals "Earthworm, Acute Toxicity Tests" (1984).

METHOD

Artificial soil with moisture controlled in the range 31 % to 36 % was used during the test. The pH was controlled at 6.0 to 6.3, temperature was maintained at 20°Cto 22°C, humiditity was controlled at 80 % to 85 % and continuous light was supplied with an intensity of 400 lux to 800 lux.

RESULTS

Based on the result of the range-finding test and the definitive test, the LC50 (14 d) of the test substance in artificial soil was 107 mg/kg (dry weight soil) with 95 % confidence limit of 86.5 mg/kg to 133 mg/kg (dry weight soil). The highest concentration causing no mortality, LC0 (14 d), was equal to 50 mg/kg (dry weight soil). The lowest concentration causing 100 % mortality, LC100 (14 d) was equal to 200 mg/kg (dry weight soil).
