The substance was tested by DSC from -20 to 300°C without showing any autoignition temperature and/or behaviour.

Moreover, handling experience with ATMPoxide indicates stable behaviour when in contact with air at room temperature over a prolonged period of time (days), without noticeable or undesirable reactions.

Thus it can be concluded that for ATMPoxide a potential for spontaneous ignition is not expected:

-ATMPoxide can be considered as a non-pyrophoric substance because it does not react with air in small amounts in a more or less instantaneous manner;

-ATMPoxide e can be considered as a non-self-heating substance because it does not react with air in large amounts and after an extended period of time;.

ATMPoxide is produced and used regularly since many years in Europe according to the above qualifications. Evidence connected to the long experience in handling and use of the molecule confirms the non spontaneous ignition property.

In addition, ATMPoxide is soluble in aqueous solution at room temperature and forms stable solutions, without reaction or emission of flammable gases .

Specific rules for adaptation as described in Column 2 Annex VII of the REACH Regulation can be applied and the autoflammability study does not need to be conducted.
