The Vapour pressure of the substance 1,3-isobenzofurandione, reaction products with methylquinoline and quinolone was found to be 2.73X10-9 mm Hg at 25 deg C (est) which is equivalent to 0.000000363 Pascal.

Partition Coefficient

The partition Coefficient n-octanol/water of1,3-isobenzofurandione, reaction products with methylquinoline and quinolone(CAS No. 8003-22-3)was determined by the Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatographic method according to OECD Guideline No. 117 for Testing of Chemicals. The reference substances were chosen according to structural similarity with the test substance. The reference substances were 4 Acetyl pyridine, Acetophenone, Benzophenone, Naphthalene, Biphenyl, N butyl benzene having Pow value ranging from 0.5 to4.6.

TheLog Powvalue was found to be3.550± 0.001at 25°C.

Water solubility

The water solubility determination of 1,3-isobenzofurandione, reaction products with methylquinoline and quinolone was done following OECD 105 and analytical determinations were done on HPLC. The mean water solubility was found to be 5.438±0.515 mg/l at 25°C. Thus the chemical is considered to be slightly soluble.

Solubility in Organic Solvents

The solubility range of the test item1,3-isobenzofurandione, reaction products with methylquinoline and quinolone (CAS 8003-22-3)in toluene and DMF was found to be 50-100 g/l whereas the solubility value in acetone, acetonitrile, methanol and ethanol was found to be less than 1 g/l, respectively at 28 °C.

Surface Tension

In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, this end point was considered for waiver since surface activity is not a desired property of the chemical 1,3-isobenzofurandione, reaction products with methylquinoline and quinoline (Synonym D&C Yello No 11) considering its use as a coloring agent for food, cosmetics and plastics.

Flash point

The flash point determination of Test item 1,3-isobenzofurandione, reaction products with methylquinoline and quinoline (CAS No. 8003-22-3) was done. The method is closed cup method using Pensky-Martens Flash Point Apparatus. The flashpoint of the test item was found to be 195°C at 977.8 hPa.

Auto Flammability

The chemical 1,3-isobenzofurandione, reaction products with methylquinoline and quinoline is a solid and has a very low vapour pressure value of 2.73X10-9 mm Hg at 25 deg C (Est). In addition, it has a high flash point of 195oC. Thus, based on theses properties, the substance is not likely to be auto flammable.

Flammability

The chemical 1,3-isobenzofurandione, reaction products with methylquinoline and quinoline (Synonym (D&C Yellow No. 11) has a relatively high melting point of 242.1 oC and a very low vapor pressure of 0.000000363 Pascal at 25oC. In addition, it has a high flash point of 195oC. Thus, the chemical is unlikely to exhibit flammable property. Thus, the chemical is classified as "Non Flammable".
