In accordance with column 2 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex VIII and IX additional biotic degradation tests shall be proposed if the result of the Chemical Safety Assessment indicates the need to investigate further the degradation of 3,5,5 trimethylhexanoic acid, mixed esters with dipentaerythritol (CAS 84418-63-3) and its degradation products. The substance is poorly biodegradable in water and therefore is likely to persist in the environment. In addition the substance is determined to be neither acutely or chronically toxic nor to accumulate in organisms. Since the substance is not expected to cause an environmental risks further degradation studies are not proposed.
