Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Adsorption/desorption:

Based on the Weight of evidence approach of adsorption endpoint for the target substance 2-Propyne-1-sulfonic acid, sodium salt (1:1) (Cas no. 55947-46-1) studies are summarized as fallowed:

Predicted model (EPI suite; KOCWIN Program (v2.00)) for target chemical Propyne-1-sulfonic acid, sodium salt (1:1) (Cas no. 55947-46-1) indicate that the adsorption (Log KOC) value of the substance Sodium 2-Propyne-1-sulfonic acid, sodium salt was calculated using the software KOCWIN (v2.00).

The Log soil adsorption coefficient (Log Koc) value of 2-Propyne-1-sulfonic acid, sodium salt is estimated to be 0.1953 L/kg, (Koc: 1.568 L/kg) indicating that it has negligible sorption to soil and sediment and rapid migration to ground water.

And authorative database for read across substance methanesulfonic acid (Cas no. 75-75-2) indicate the adsorption coefficient (Koc) of substance methanesulfonic acid was found to be 1 using a structure estimation method based on molecular connectivity indices.

This Koc value suggests that methanesulfonic acid expected to have very high mobility in soil.

Based on the both result it is concluded that the test substance Propyne-1-sulfonic acid, sodium salt (1:1) (Cas no. 55947-46-1) it has negligible sorption to soil i.e expected to have very high mobility in soil.
