Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Decomposition of MEXORYL SCK started at about 207 °C before melting occurred. No further testing is required.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One GLP study was performed in order to determine the melting point of the MEXORYL SCK (also called MEXORYL SBT) according to OECD 102 and EU method A.1. The substance is considered to be adequately characterised. Therefore full validation applies and it is considered as a key study. The differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) method and the capillary method were used and allowed to state that the substance decomposes before melting. For that reason, no value can be retained as key data for purpose of CSA.
