Description of key information

The test material is a colourless clear liquid with a melting point of 5.4°C and boiling range of 276-277 °C at atmospheric pressure. The relative density of the test item is 1.05 at 20°C, relative to water at 4°C. The test item was found to have a vapour pressure of 0.08 hPa at 20 °C, 0.11 hPa at 25 °C, 0.48 hPa at 50 °C, a water solubility of 6.3 mg/L at 20.0°C and a log Kow of 4.78 at 23°C.

The flashpoint at atmospheric pressure is 137°C and auto-ignition is observed at a temperature of 395°C.

The test substance does not contain functional groups which are associated with explosive or oxidising properties. Moreover, based on the chemical structure surface activity is not expected.

The substance does not need to be classified for physical hazards.
