Surface tension of the filtrate was measured by the ring
method, using a surface tension balance. Values for surface
tension were obtained after temperature equilibration of
five minutes in the measurement vessel. Measurements were
made at 5,10 and 15 minutes.
There was no apparent time dependence of surface tension
after transfer to the measurement vessel.
