liquid

Additional information

The melting point of the test substance was investigated in different studies (please refer to IUCLID section 4.2). The melting point was determined to be at 33-35 °C. In the course of the boiling point study (please refer to IUCLID section 4.3) the test substance was investigated using Differential scanning calorimetry. In this study the melting point of 33 °C was confirmed. The onset temperature of the endothermic effect (melting) was observed at 25 °C. Due to the test conditions (heating rate of 10 K/min, sealed crucible) the start of the endothermic effect can be estimated to be lower than 25 °C at ambient conditions. The phase change between solid and liquid phase starts at ambient conditions (20 °C, 1013.25 hPa). In accordance with the visual inspections the test item has to be described rather as liquid than as solid. In conclusion, the test substance was determined to be a colourless (viscous) liquid at 1013 hPa and 20 °C.
